 OK well, just reflecting on the recording process here. Working on a solo acoustic album... I'm engineering it myself which makes me a bit schizophonic. Never done it like this before. I'm emphasizing the capture of sweet live recorded takes, getting good tones, keeping the magic of performance without getting too nerded/wigged out by the computOR and learning ProTools concurrently. This is challenging.
A true surprise is that twice since I've started this project I've finished a track which has led me to start writing a new song, taking it all the way to completion - wow! Kinda wreaking havok on the production schedule but adding an unexpected creative element that is very edgy and exciting.
Looks like this record is gonna have two tunes that came out of nowhere during the sessions unannounced... bonus. |
